About

Baroness Philomene de Lys of Atlantia

About me

Baroness Philomene de Lys hails from the town of Wericq-Sud in France on the banks of the Lys River. Her family were landed baronage and merchants, which enabled her to have an expansive education for her time period (late 16th century). Philomene is a scribe by occupation and finds her delight in calligraphy and illumination.

She is a member of the Order of the Pearl and is apprenticed to Goodwife Michel Almond de Champagne. She belongs to the Atelier du Champagne and House of the Wounded Mushroom.

Expertise

What You Do

Philomene is a scribe for the Kingdom of Atlantia and has been actively contributing to the SCA since 2017. She is the Kingdom New Scribe’s Deputy as well as her barony’s MoAS.

She most enjoys the Squashed Bug style of illumination (mka Tromp l’œil) and adding personal touches to the recipient of her art is very near and dear to her heart.
